The Lord Alarnath Temple at Brahmagiri, which is around 25 kilometres from Puri, is a revered sacred place for followers of Krishna. The divine bird Garuda, Lord Vishnu’s carrier, is depicted kneeling with folded hands in front of the deity. The temple also houses the deities of Lord Krishna’s queens, Rukmini and Satyabhama, as well as Lord Chaitanya. The stone slab in front of Lord Alarnath bears impressions from Lord Chaitanya’s ecstatic touch, a visible testament to his reverence.

A scenic lake adjacent to the temple serves as the venue for the Chandan Yatra, a Sandalwood Festival celebrated for 21 days annually. Within the temple compound, there is also a Goddess Lakshmi temple, where devotees find solace and inner peace in the presence of the beautiful four-armed Goddess.
