Lingaraj Temple is one of the oldest and largest temples in Bhubaneswar,  the capital city of the Indian state of Odisha. It is a Hindu temple  dedicated to Lord Shiva and is considered to be one of the most  important Shiva temples in India

The temple was built in the 11th century by King Jajati Keshari and is  constructed in the Kalinga style of architecture.

It is a magnificent  example of ancient Indian architecture, with intricate carvings and  sculptures adorning the walls and pillars.  

The Lingaraj Temple is located in the Old Town area of Bhubaneswar and  is easily accessible by road. It is located approximately 5 km from  Bhubaneswar Railway Station and 6 km from Biju Patnaik International  Airport. 

The Lingaraj Temple has been the subject of many legends and myths over  the years. One popular legend states that the temple was built by Lord  Shiva himself and that he resides in the temple in the form of the Shiva  Linga 

The Lingaraj Temple is known for its beautiful architecture, which is a  blend of Kalinga and Dravidian styles. The temple has a height of 55  meters and is surrounded by many smaller shrines and temples.
