The Mukteswara Temple in Bhubaneswar is a renowned tourist attraction,  hailed as the "Gem of Odisha" for its splendid 10th-century  architecture, intricate sculptures, and exquisite carvings.

Architectural  Grace 

Two pillars with sculptures of smiling women wearing beads and ornaments  flank the arched entryway, which has a distinctive Buddhist  architectural influence. Additional decorations include carvings of  peacocks and monkeys as well as sculptures with intricate scroll work  and feminine shapes. 

Sculptural Highlight 

In addition to the main temple, the grounds also have minor shrines with  Shiva Lingas. Within the temple grounds, on the eastern side, is a tank  named Marichi Kunda, and in the southwest corner is a well. According  to lore, a dip in Marichi Kund helps treat female infertility.
